The
Journal
The following is a list of 1999 changes to the various
related web sites or information bulletins. Most recent changes are shown first:
- 12/25/99
- Great is the mystery...that the Creator took upon
Himself flesh and bone. Greater yet, He dwells at the "right-hand" of
the Father upon high and will come again. We have added a
site-specific search tool to the website. We
hope this proves a useful resource.
- 12/20/99
- Due to specific inquiries, we are making another of
MJS's Tri-S papers available upon special request. We have scanned and
epublished HOMOSEX AND THE
CHRISTIAN, The Making, the
Breaking, of Homosexuality. This paper is shared on a
'need-to-know' basis. Contact us to obtain directions.
- 11/20/99
- Diane and I spent some time today reminiscing with
Cornelia Stanford. In spite of her temporary loss in earthly
companionship, she continues to reflect the joy of the Lord and carries on
her own special ministry. As a special treat for visitors, we have
included some never-before-seen photographs of Miles and Cornelia.
- 9/24/99
- After nearly 50 years of ascension ministry and at the
age of 85, Christian growth author Miles J. Stanford stepped into the Lord's glory on September 21,
1999. In addition to his prolific writings, he maintained worldwide
correspondence with scores of hungry-hearted believers, typically signing
his doctrinally rich letters with "Resting in Him." For nearly 30
years, this dear brother assumed the role of a surrogate father in my life.
He will be dearly missed.
- 9/12/99
- As many are aware, Miles Stanford has
been unable to keep pace with the volume of email. His medical
condition (life long) is often a daily hindrance and for now selectively
answers email. We will maintain contact and keep everyone informed.
If we can be of service to you, please don't hesitate to drop us your
question(s) or share what's on your mind.
- 9/10/99
- In spite of uncertainties surrounding
Y2K and the next 12 months, we recently upgraded to FrontPage 2000 and
replaced a failed 17" monitor. The combined websites have grown to
6+MB and we anticipate 10MB when this first stage is complete. Due to
declining prices on both computer hardware and nationally based Internet
Service Providers (ISPs), our plan is to move (in the Lord's time) to both a
new machine (9:1) and a new Internet provider with high-capacity, T-3
fiber-optics communications. This will result in a substantial
increase in access performance as well as enhanced website features.
Our short-term goal is to continue to epublish the remaining MJS Position
Papers and create a site-specific search engine. The longer-term plan
includes foreign language versions of Miles'
THE NEW BIRTH EXPLAINED.
Many thanks to those gracious saints who have financially helped to support
this endeavor and also to those who regularly hold us up in prayer.
- 9/5/99
- Lately, we have received questions and
comments regarding the subject of Christian "mysticism." In response,
we have made available select quotes from Dr. Chafer's Systematic
(Christian Mysticism--the
True and the False), as well as provided an online version of
GENE EDWARDS - The Inward Journey & The Highest Life.
- 8/20/99
- Some time back we posted an excerpt
from MJS's Tri-S II (hardcopies may be in short supply or
unavailable) regarding the ministry and Christian life emphasis of Dr. Lewis Sperry Chafer, founder of Dallas Theological
Seminary. By reader request, we are epublishing the remainder of this
substantive work. Further, we have made available Stanford's 1957-1963
correspondence with Dr.
Ray C. Stedman
for those who continue to ask about Ray Stedman's ministry.
- 7/7/99
- We are happy to announce that after several months of
hard work on the part of many brothers and sisters,
The Works of Miles J. Stanford are available on CD.
The CD includes: The Complete Green Letters, None but the Hungry Heart,
Position Papers - Anthology, Position to Person, Pauline Dispensationalism,
The Line Drawn, The New Birth Explained, An Ascension Anthology - J. Butler
Stoney, most of Tri-S (Spiritual Sharing Service) Series, An I for an I,
Cross References, Philippians 3:10, and The Pause. The CD was
published by Galaxie Software using the
Logos Library System format. We wish to extend a special
thanks to Bob Strauss, Duane Stous, et al., at New Tribes Mission for
administrative efforts as well as Jake and Vera Diel for their gracious
support.
- 6/28/99
- We must apologize for not posting notice of the many
additions to our websites here. However, we do call your attention to
a recent article The
Apostle Paul's Olive Tree Analogy. A
discussion of Romans 9 -11 is particularly germane to keeping new-creation
believers focused on the Lord Jesus Christ and free of entanglement with the
Law. This section of Scripture has proved especially problematic
to a majority of Christians. Since many are unfamiliar with
conditional corporate election, they are vulnerable to the erroneous
interpretation that Israel is the olive tree
rather than a branch.
- 2/15/99
- Many regularly write us asking for a brief explanation
of Covenant Theology. Sorry, I got on a roll and my intention to be
brief fell by the wayside. See
The Errors of Covenant Theology.
- 1/31/99
- Much time is being spent bringing many
complete text of MJS's Polemic Papers to his website. Check there for
the new additions.
